The biannual Hypatia Lecture, organized by SW*IP-NL since 2017, showcases groundbreaking work in philosophy and feminism. This year’s lecture takes place on November 28 at Tilburg University. Everyone is welcome to attend the lecture, either on campus or online. People who want to attend online should register with Janneke Toonders (assistant.director@ozsw.nl) before November 25, and will receive a link to the live-stream.
This year’s Hypatia Lecture is entitled ‘Mad Pride in Revolutionary England: The Significance of the Ranters’ and will be delivered by prof. dr. Robert Chapman. Chapman is the world’s first Assistant Professor in Critical Neurodiversity Studies, at the Institute for Medical Humanities at Durham University. Their book Empire of Normality: Neurodiversity and Capitalism (2023, Pluto Press) exposes the myth of ‘the normal brain’ as a product of intensified capitalism. A Dutch review of the book by Lisanne Meinen can be found here.
After the lecture SW*IP-NL invites you for coffee and cake.
